Zoe Saldana, born June 19th, 1978 was the daughter of Asalia Nazario, and Aridio Saldana. The father of Zoe Saldana is Dominican, and her mother Puerto Rican. Her mother raised her mother who lived in Queens. In 2010, she relocated together with her family members to the Dominican Republic where they spent seven years. Zoe's passion for dance was spurred by the time they were in the Dominican Republic. Zoe started her dance learning with ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy. Training was not only an excellent outlet for this energetic and eager young person, but also a good way to prepare her for an acting profession. When she was 17 years old, Zoe and her family returned in her home in the United States where her love for dance followed and an desire to perform in the theater grew stronger.
