Kathleen Zellner

 American attorney Kathleen Zellner has extensive experience in the field of wrongful conviction advocacy. The clients she represents include Steven Avery, the subject of the Making a Murderer's 2015 and the 2018 Netflix series, Kevin Fox (who was falsely accused of murdering his daughter), Ryan W. Ferguson and Larry Eyler. There are 19 exonerees on the National Registry of Exonerations. Kathleen Zellner, the second child of seven, was born in Midland Texas. Owen Thomas was her father and Winifred Zellner was Winifred's mom. Winifred was a pharmacist who became a chemist later on. When she was nine years old her family and she moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. After having graduated from Marquette University, Wisconsin, she went to the University of Missouri. from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. She received her Juris Doctor from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1981. She was Editor-in-Chief of their Law Review, and clerked for 2nd District Illinois Appellate Court justice George W. Lindberg. In 1991, Kathleen T. Zellner & Associates was established in Downers Grove. The firm is a specialist in wrongful conviction cases, civil rights violations, medical malpractice, and prisoner abuse cases.Zellner had gotten 19 exonerations by the end of October of 2018, and currently 20 exonerations are being granted to clients. The notable clients Zellner represents include Steven Avery (the subject of the Netflix series Making a Murderer) and Kevin Fox (the falsely accused of murdering his daughter aged 3). There are 19 exonerees who are listed in the National Registry of Exonerations. Newsweek revealed that one lawyer said that facing trial at the courthouse was more difficult than divorce.
