Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields was born May 31 of 1965. When she was a model as a child, she won critical acclaim when she played the lead role in Louis Malle’s movie Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling through her teens, and was featured in numerous dramas during the 1980s, such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981). In 1983 Shields quit her model profession to pursue a degree at Princeton University where she received a bachelor's in Romance Languages. Shields had a few film roles as well as a return to acting in the 1990s. She was also on the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-202000), where she was nominated two Golden Globes. Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009) was her second nomination. Shields returned to NBC in 2017, reprising her role as a major role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unified's 19th season. Shields has the role of Beverly Goodman on Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles, and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She is the daughter of model and actress Teri Shields (nee Schmon; 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). According to the work of William Addams-Reitwiesner, Shields is related to numerous noble families in Italy specifically from Genoa and Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Her paternal grandmother was the Italian noblewoman Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi she was the daughter of an Italian prince and an American socialite. Her great-uncle Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman was the father of Infanta Beatriz in Spain. Teri was paid an amount by the family of Frank in order to end the pregnancy.
