Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

 Abigail Marie Clancy (19 January 1986) was an English lingerie and catwalk models and a TV personality. In 2006, she was runner-up in Britain's Next Top Model cycle 2. She also won the series 11 and 12 of Strictly Come Dancing 2013. Since 2015 she has been hosting Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy was born in Liverpool. She is the second-oldest child of four siblings, Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. She was born in Woolton which is a region in Liverpool. She was a student at St Mary's Primary School, and St Julie's Catholic High school. Clancy was the founder of the girl group Genie Queen, who were directed by Andy McCluskey from Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD). Clancy was among the 13 finalists in Living TV's Britain’s Next Top Model, which saw her compete over 10 weeks to win an opportunity to model. Clancy together with another contestant Lianna Foller was selected to appear on the finale runway show. Clancy eventually became the runner up. Clancy was the first model to be featured on Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy was the model of the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike on the May 2007 cover of Arena magazine. Clancy was chosen to be featured in the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated 2010. Clancy was selected for her sporting connection to Peter Crouch. Clancy was photographed wearing body paint by the magazine, to make it appear like she was wearing an England shirt. Yu Tsai shot the photos. Clancy was included in Umbro's campaign for 2010. She was wearing the England shirt and was joined by women of the teams that won. Clancy was a model in Giles Deacon's Ready-To-Wear Giles Spring 2011 line. In March 2011, Clancy was featured on Elite Model Management: New York division's website. She was part of London designer Hasan Hejazi’s campaign in July 2013. The editorial was shot by Absynth Photographyic, and the fashion film was by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy also modeled in the August issue of UK Esquire cover shot by Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was one of the models featured in LOVE magazine’s Advent Calendar, alongside SukiWaterhouse and Cara Delevingne. Clancy was featured on the cover of British Marie Claire in July 2014, and British Elle in March of 2015. Abbey Clancy and Sophia Crouch, their daughter, collaborated for the Launch of Lipsy's AW'19 collection. The collection for AW19 was unveiled by Lipsy in Abu Dhabi in January of 2020.
